Teenage Violence is costly

Update on the vicious assault of that poor girl. It looks bad for those screeching thugs.

I've been thinking about this and apart from the kidnapping charge, its no different to the happy-slapping wee shites we get all the time over here. It shows a different attitude in the US that this is even being reported. I have little doubt that when this sort of incident happens over here, the kids just get a slap on the wrists.

The fact that they are all seemingly middle-class white girls raises some questions too, but maybe i'm just being cynical....

You're right about the happy slapping lark, I mean what is that only assault. And I for one would be all for happy slappers going to jail for a spell to cool their jets.
However, I think in this case the fact that it was a sustained attack, organised and pre-meditated and they forcefully held her against her will will cost the little shits dear.

True FMC, but surely happy slapping is pre-meditated. The vitim may not be, but the action certainly is.
I suppose I just wish our government and media would make such a big deal about the violence issues we face.

You're right, it is bloody pre-meditated, the little fucks go looking for someone to assault. Excuse, my brain is fried.

what blows me away are the rising statistics in girls who get in physical fights. i've never in my life been in a fight - nor have any of the girls i grew up with.... schoolyard fights were a rare occasion, and when they did happen, it always seemed to be boys.

I went to boarding school, surrounded by gals 24/7 and we never got into fights either. It's just a much more violent society we live in, and if that makes me sound like an old fogey so be it.

I'm still relatively young, and I would never of dreamed of doing 1/2 the things this generation of kids get up to, when I was their age.
I'm not saying that I didn't get into my fair share of scrapes and did some pretty idiotic things, but I had a healthy fear / respect for my elders and the general rule of law. It's the same with practically everyone my age, but the younger generation has lost that fear and I can only imagine what sort've kids they will spawn...

I live in St. Petersburg, Florida. Last night on the local news they showed the girls being transported from the juvie facility to the grown up jail. They were crying. It was nice to see, I hope they were scared to shit. I was disappointed that they were not shackeled though.

Better tears than giggling over missing cheerleading and Spring Break. Maybe they're finally realising just what world of trouble they are in.
I was amused to learn that the mom who defended her daughter's 'actions' is not even raising her child, the girl lives with the granndmother who is horrified by the carry on of her grand-daughter.

There is something seriously wrong with the world we live in. I'm a cynic as it is and I tend not to like people, or humanity. Maybe this sounds awful but clips like that one proves my point. People can be really effing awful.
I like animals better.

I am really pleased they are going to be held accountable for their actions. I reckon they were looking for some sort of disgusting infamous glory. Horrible horrible horrible human beings. I hope they marinate in deep shame and remorse for the rest of their lives (and not just because they landed themselves in a pile of shit).
