Drug Smuggling...

Ur doin' it wrung!

'IT was the simplest of mistakes. Two powerful Yamaha outboard marine engines were accidentally filled with diesel instead of petrol, in dark, stormy seas off west Cork.

But the error had the most catastrophic of consequences for an international drug gang who stood to make a staggering €400m profit on a €40m cocaine purchase from a Central American drug cartel.

In a matter of seconds, a vast drug smuggling operation that had been months in painstaking planning, between seven countries and over three continents, was thrown into utter chaos.

To this day, no-one knows which member of the cocaine smuggling gang accidentally poured diesel into the motors of the boat specifically tasked with bringing 1.5 ton of cocaine ashore from a "mother ship"off the west Cork coast."

Oh Joe, Martin and Perry, petrol/diesel? I bet you wake up screaming those two words every morning.

In other drug news, 6 kilos of Crystal Meth were also seized yesterday in Offaly, thought to belong to a Lithuanian gang. If you've ever seen a Crystal Meth user in action you can now twitch over your morning coffee and hope to marmalade that no one you know or care about ever gets involved with it.

Drugs and the 'war on drugs' it will never be won. If you think of waht they find can you imagine what is slipping through?

Look at part 5 there is no hope for that stupid bitch. Just put her down. I admire her father’s patience, I wouldn't be able to restrain myself. People who take drugs are a drain on society. They should get rid of "personal use" and throw them in the pen, although prison reform would be necessary for that to be an effective solution.

I wonder if the Drugs on the boat were really for us or England. And you see they said their 440m was based on the assumption that the load was 19% pure when in actual fact it was 75%, giving the shipment a street value of 1.2 billion. Amazing all together.

I love this story, it would make a great ending for a movie. Can you imagine the face of the big "Don" when they told him the news? HeHe

Don't you love the way the news reported it..."Biggest Drugs Seizure In The History Of The State", which is what most people would remember, and then in the small print, the diesel/petrol mixup, which you are rightly highlighting.

Nothing for the gardai to be proud of in THIS story, I can tell you.

It's ALL in the details! Frankly I wouldn't like to be in those men's shoes. What a cock up of Monty Python proportions.
SOme of their excuses for 'why' they were bobbing around in the sea with so much drugs were absolutely hilarious.

Just what did she do?
Shave part of them off?

meth is the worst - i saw plenty of kids go through withdrawal when i worked in detention. it's sad that they turn to these things, for whatever reasons... but meth isn't one of those 'experimental/just try it once' drugs - it generally just eats a person up.

watching that video, I couldn't help but think, "she's got a bit of a point" when she was saying this is dumb.

"interventions" are so tacky and cheesy.

I guess if it works though...

"People who take drugs are a drain on society"
Cracking sweeping statement, however you just need to look at the financial and health cost of obesity and alcohol compared to drug use and start to question our societies vitriolic condemnation of "drugs". Take one drunk male, on stoned on weed, one high on E and which one will behave in a more antisocial manner.

on a tangent, i just heard news of a recent study that found that prolonged use of marijuana causes latent schizophrenia to surface. so if one has asymptomatic schizophrenia, it seems that the full-blown disease can be induced.

Not a stoner, have too much of a disliking for Pink Floyd to be a stoner. Just watch the carnage in any big city on a Friday/Saturday night. Also having worked in the NHS for a while have seen the result of drunkards in A&E and seen the people dying of heart disease and poisoning their children through over indulgence.
